Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has said that she feared she would no longer be in demand after taking two years off work.
Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival, she said: "There's always somebody who's younger or hotter or prettier."
"I really did not know if there would be a place for me any more," she said.
"If you're a woman and especially if you're not 25, Hollywood is pretty cut-throat."
"I was very realistic about the fact that there might not be any more room for me. I definitely knew I had lost my place when I left."
